To observe this years World Malaria Day, the African Media and Malaria Research Network organized a day’s seminar for Journalists and Scientists in Ghana.
The seminar which was on the theme “Counting on the Media to Eradicate Malaria” brought together about 45 participants from the print and electronic media houses.

Giving the opening remarks at the seminar, the Executive secretary of AMRREN, Mrs Charity Binka noted that lots of efforts have gone into eradicating malaria in the world but it continues to be one of the leading causes of death in Africa. She therefore called for increase support and efforts from every sector, especially from the media.

She noted that the media are the gatekeepers of every society, the lead and touch bearers in promoting change and new ideas. “They must therefore not be left out in counting malaria out of the world”.
