Voices for Malaria-free Future Launch

The “Voices for Malaria-free Future” a Ghana Malaria Advocacy Campaign of the National Malaria Control Program was launched on Wednesday 12 th of March 2008 at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra Ghana.

The Voices for Malaria-free Future campaign aims at improving the current advocacy efforts on malaria in the country and create new and powerful voices by reaching those in positions of making policy decisions, influencing funding levels, and setting health priorities to combat malaria.

The Deputy Minister of Health who launched the campaign on behalf of the Minister of Health Hon. Major (Rtd.) Courage Quashigah, called on co-operate bodies come up with programmes to support the National Malaria Control Program in their effort to eradicate malaria in Ghana.

 

Ms.Rosemary Ardayfio spokesperson for the Ghana Media Malaria Advocacy Network, the media arm of the National Malaria Control Program, in a statement at the launch said that they will link up with other networks such as the African Media Malaria ResearchNetwork (AMMREN),the Health Research Institutions, the NGOs and all other projects and programs promoting malaria prevention and treatment in order to promote maximum achievement of the results of their programs and activities.
