FMP Donates Bednets to Lower Fulladu Community

Farmer Manage Project( FMP) recently distributed over two thousand treated bed nets to the community of Lower Fulladu District, Central River Region. It's meant to help prevent food producers and providers from being infested with malaria in order to attain food self-sufficiency.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ousman Kolly, FMP's official, said malaria remains one of the most serious challenges facing the public health sector, causing very high morbidity and mortality.

He noted that, if those who are key food producers and providers are protected from getting malaria, then the region will attain food self-sufficiency. He then urged them to make the best use of the nets.

Momodou Lamin Baldeh, Chief of Lower Fulladu commended them for their humanitarian assistance, noting that it's in line with government malaria prevention and control strategy and prayed to the Almighty Allah to shower his everlasting blessings on the leadership of the nation and The Gambia as a whole.

He asserted that the provision of bednets to farmers, particularly the women folk, who produce food will go a long way towards complementing government's efforts. He pointed out that many people have benefited from the nets, such as pregnant women, women, children and men.

Seyfo Baldeh then called on others to emulate Farmer Manage Project in such a laudable gesture.
