COVID-19 emergency fund calls for proposals [Worldwide]

Journalists who want to cover COVID-19 within their own communities can apply for this fund. National Geographic has launched the COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Journalists. The fund will range from US$1,000 to US8,000 for local coverage of the preparation, response and impact of the global coronavirus pandemic. Proposals must emphasize delivering news to underserved populations, particularly where there is a dearth of evidence-based information getting to those who need it. Mongabay seeks story pitches on apes [Africa, Asia]

April 16, 2020 - April 16, 2021

Experienced journalists can apply for a paid reporting initiative. Mongabay is accepting story proposals for a special reporting project on apes to raise public attention about the issues facing great apes and gibbons. Possible topics include analyses of threats to apes, conservation solutions, new research and discoveries, particularly findings that could have implications for conservation strategies, and more. Fellowship covers ethical leadership [Worldwide]
