AMMREN Gambia Chapter Gets Launched

After several months of preparations, the African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN), a sub-regional body comprising journalists and scientists has finally launched its Gambian chapter.
The launching of the AMMREN - Gambia Chapter which was held last Tuesday at the National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) conference hall was attended by a plethora of high profile personalities from all walks of life.
Speaking on occasion, the country coordinator of AMMREN, Pa Modu Faal, gave a graphic detail of AMMREN, saying that the Network is established to vigorously fight Malaria in Africa. He said that Network members would work together with development partners to eradicate Malaria in continent, adding that Malaria is the number one killer disease in Africa.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary, Department of State for Health, Mr Saikou Janneh said that Malaria is the leading killer disease, adding that it affects mainly children and pregnant mothers. PS Janneh went to commend AMMREN for launching its antenna in the country. Other speakers at the occasion included Pa Omar Faal of NaNA and Dr Momodou Jasseh of MRC.
